Deck overview

This Azorius deck is led by Hylda of the Icy Crown, blending classic control and stax elements with a dedicated tap-synergy engine. The deck focuses on controlling the pace of the game by tapping opposing creatures at instant speed, converting each tap trigger into 4/4 Elemental tokens, board-wide +1/+1 counters, or card advantage. Supported by high-tier card draw engines like Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora, the deck quickly accumulates resources while disrupting opposing plays using free and low-cost interaction like Force of Will and Swords to Plowshares. Once established, the deck transitions into hard lockouts using Opposition to tap opposing lands during upkeeps, or combines Knowledge Pool with Drannith Magistrate or Teferi, Time Raveler to prevent opponents from casting spells. Victory is achieved through a lethal swarm of 4/4 Elementals boosted by Akroma's Will, or by forcing concessions through total game lockouts.
