Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Aristocrats strategy commanded by Marchesa, the Black Rose. It revolves around placing +1/+1 counters on creatures and sacrificing them for value, triggering Marchesa's ability to return them to the battlefield at the beginning of each end step. By leveraging sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer, Goblin Bombardment, and Ashnod's Altar alongside counter sources such as Dethrone, Unspeakable Symbol, and Uncivil Unrest, the deck creates recursive loops that trigger on every player's turn. Payoffs like Dictate of Erebos and Fleshbag Marauder systematically lock down opposing creature boards, while Syr Konrad, the Grim, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Warstorm Surge convert recurring deaths into fatal direct damage. Threat-theft cards like Mark of Mutiny and Mob Rule allow permanent theft of opposing creatures when sacrificed under Marchesa. While resilient against traditional destroy effects, the deck depends heavily on graveyard interactions and its commander, leaving it vulnerable to targeted exile and graveyard hate.
