Deck overview

This deck pairs Karlach, Fury of Avernus with Raised by Giants to execute an aggressive combat-focused strategy. Early green ramp accelerates Karlach onto the battlefield by Turn 4. The following turn, resolving the Background turns Karlach into a 10/10 Giant, enabling massive chunk damage through Karlach's built-in extra combat trigger. By attacking twice each turn, the deck can deal 20 commander damage in a single round, threatening single-player eliminations and closing games by Turn 7. Secondary threats like Moraug, Fury of Akoum, Port Razer, and Anzrag, the Quake-Mole provide redundant combat phases. An infinite combat loop exists through Aggravated Assault and Bear Umbra, though the absence of noncreature tutors means the deck primarily wins via fair combat damage. Its chief vulnerabilities stem from low reactive interaction, minimal protection for Karlach, and susceptibility to well-timed creature removal or chump blockers.
