Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive lifegain-drain combo engine led by Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. Its primary game plan revolves around weaponizing life gain into direct life loss, assembling two-card infinite loops with Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror to drain the entire table in a single turn. The deck accelerates through early ramp, rituals, and mana cost-reducers like Jet Medallion and Bontu's Monument, deploying Vito alongside consistent lifegain triggers. Supporting lines include high-impact mono-black engines like Bolas's Citadel, K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, and the Bloodchief Ascension plus Mindcrank loop. Card flow is maintained through engines like Black Market Connections, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Preacher of the Schism. While lacking universal low-cost tutors, the list achieves high functional redundancy among drain payoffs and big-mana finishers like Torment of Hailfire. It leverages efficient removal and graveyard hate to suppress opponents while building toward a lethal combo finish.
