Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Whisper, Blood Liturgist to execute a reanimator and aristocrats game plan. In the early turns, it loads the graveyard using self-mill cards like Stitcher's Supplier and Stinkweed Imp while deploying recursive creatures like Bloodghast and Reassembling Skeleton. On Turn 4, Whisper enters play and activates on Turn 5 to reanimate game-ending threats such as Archon of Cruelty, Vilis, Broker of Blood, and Sheoldred, Whispering One. The deck applies heavy board control through forced sacrifices via Butcher of Malakir and Tergrid, God of Fright, while closing the game with recurring life-drain triggers from Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Kokusho, the Evening Star. Standalone reanimation spells like Living Death and Victimize provide strong redundancy if Whisper is removed.
