Deck overview

This is a general Orzhov life-gain deck led by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. The commander is both the guaranteed engine and a slow source of pressure: each tap gains 1 life, drains each opponent for 1, and can convert that life into one drawn card. The deck supports that plan with lifelink creatures, life-doublers such as Rhox Faithmender and The Wind Crystal, and payoffs including Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, and Marauding Blight-Priest. Its main weakness is that these pieces are expensive and largely untutored. The deck has reasonable creature removal and sweepers, but little stack interaction or protection. It can assemble a useful value engine around Turn 7, yet its ordinary damage clock is not decisive and it has no reliable table-kill sequence. Large spells such as Exsanguinate, Debt to the Deathless, and Storm Herd provide a favorable-draw ceiling rather than a dependable primary finish.
