Deck overview

This Golgari deck centers on Chatterfang, Squirrel General to create an overwhelming swarm of Squirrel tokens and convert them into mana, card flow, and removal. Early turns focus on deploying 1- and 2-mana ramp dorks and setup pieces to cast Chatterfang on turn 3. On turn 4, the deck establishes its primary engine by playing token producers like Deep Forest Hermit or mana converters such as Jaheira, Friend of the Forest and Cryptolith Rite. With Chatterfang's replacement effect doubling token creation, the battlefield quickly fills with Squirrels. Turn 5 marks critical onset with explosive multipliers like Parallel Evolution, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, or Primal Vigor. On turn 6, the deck converts this board into a lethal combat finish using mass haste and evasion from Akroma's Memorial, Ulvenwald Oddity, or Concordant Crossroads, while Chatterfang sacrifices tokens to eliminate key opposing blockers at instant speed.
