Deck overview

This mono-blue Merfolk deck is an aggressive tempo build led by Svyelun of Sea and Sky. The strategy focuses on establishing cheap Merfolk early to unlock the commander's indestructible protection and card-draw attack trigger on Turn 4. From there, the deck compounds board presence using token generators like Deeproot Waters and Deeproot Pilgrimage, while buffing the swarm through lords such as Master of the Pearl Trident, Merrow Reejerey, and Attuma, Atlantean Warlord. Evasion is guaranteed through islandwalk enablers like Tide Shaper and Aquitect's Will or global unblockability from Deepchannel Mentor. The interactive package blends efficient instant-speed spot removal with mass bounce spells like Evacuation and Aetherize to clear blockers and stall opposing attacks. While vulnerable to non-destruction sweepers across its multi-turn combat finish, the deck maintains resilience through built-in ward, targeted protection spells, and strong redundancy across its tribal core.
