Patron MaddAlfie - X Emplary Hydras by Ork

Format: Commander

Commander: Zaxara, the Exemplary

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Sultai X-spell and +1/+1 counter synergy deck helmed by Zaxara, the Exemplary. The primary game plan revolves around casting spells with {X} in their mana cost to generate massive Hydra tokens and value, while leveraging Zaxara's mana ability to accelerate into game-ending X-drain spells or overwhelming combat. The deck wins through infinite mana combos (Freed from the Real + Zaxara or a mana dork) funneled into Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, or Villainous Wealth, or by deploying an unblockable army of huge Hydras via Herald of Secret Streams and Open into Wonder. It packs a dense proliferate package and counter doublers like Doubling Season and Unbound Flourishing to amplify every X-spell. The commander is a flexible mana engine and token generator, but the deck's core lines do not depend on it.
