Deck overview

This Golgari deck is led by Chatterfang, Squirrel General and focuses on generating massive token swarms, controlling opposing creatures, and closing games through overrun combat or aristocrat life drain. Chatterfang turns any token creation—including Food, Clues, and Treasures—into additional 1/1 Squirrel tokens while offering instant-speed creature removal. The deck accelerates in the early turns using ramp spells and low-cost token generators, establishing Chatterfang on Turn 3 and doubling tokens by Turn 4. On Turn 5, the deck reaches critical onset by deploying massive token makers like Deep Forest Hermit or executing the infinite combo between Ivy Lane Denizen and Scurry Oak. The deck secures victory on Turn 6 by attacking with an overwhelming swarm buffed by Craterhoof Behemoth or draining opponents with Bastion of Remembrance and Zulaport Cutthroat. While vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and lacking stack-based countermagic, its dense redundancy and recursion provide reliable recovery.
