Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Sauron, the Dark Lord is both the engine and the finisher of this Grixis amass deck. The primary plan is to grow one Army with amass triggers, using Great Goblin and Saruman, the White Hand to convert counter placement into damage, then swing with trample, menace, or unblockable equipment. The Ring tempts whenever the Army hits, and Sauron converts a nearly empty hand into four fresh cards, fueling flashback and reanimation. Secondary paths include Wraith token generation with Lord of the Nazgul, treasure-fueled Smaug damage, and the extra Sauron legends as standalone beaters. No hidden commander emerges; Sauron, Lord of the Rings is a reanimation finisher that supports the same plan.
