Deck overview

This deck is a Mardu Monarch pillowfort and attrition strategy led by Queen Marchesa. The primary game plan revolves around claiming the Monarch early, establishing defensive enchantments to make attacking unprofitable, and grinding down opponents with compounding upkeep triggers. Cards like Ghostly Prison, Windborn Muse, and Blind Obedience suppress aggressive combat, while goad auras force opposing creatures to attack other players. Once the defensive perimeter is secure, the deck leverages enchantments such as Court of Ambition, Court of Grace, and Court of Ire to drain life totals, discard opposing hands, and generate evasive 4/4 Angel tokens. High-impact finishers like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and Ruinous Ultimatum break parity and close out the game. While the deck boasts resilient board protection through Teferi's Protection and Greater Auramancy, it lacks stack-based countermagic, making it vulnerable to fast spell-based combo finishes.
