Deck overview

This deck uses K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth to turn life into black mana and to make later black spells much cheaper. Its main engine is Necrodominance, which converts a life payment into a large hand at the end step. Tutors then assemble Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond, with Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Exsanguinate supplying the initial life event that starts the loop. The deck can also use Bolas's Citadel, Ad Nauseam, Vilis, Broker of Blood, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, and reanimation to produce explosive turns. Its ordinary plan is powerful but not compact: the commander, draw engine, tutors, combo pieces, and starter must all be accessible, and the deck has limited protection. It is best understood as a strong general-power mono-black combo deck, not a cEDH list. Its main weaknesses are exposure to removal and countermagic, life-total pressure, and the generic mana required after K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth reduces black costs.
