Deck overview

This mono-black Voltron deck leverages Whiplash, Vengeful Engineer as an aggressive one-mana threat that drains all opponents whenever he attacks while equipped. Supported by explosive fast mana like Mishra's Workshop, Dark Ritual, and Sol Ring, the deck deploys Whiplash on Turn 1 and immediately begins attaching a dense suite of Equipment. Protective cards like Commander's Plate, Mithril Coat, and Conqueror's Flail shield Whiplash from targeted removal and turn-based interaction, while power amplifiers such as Cranial Plating and Blackblade Reforged accelerate commander damage. The deck steadily eliminates opponents between Turns 5 and 7, utilizing evasion lands and double strike from Genji Glove to close combats. An alternate infinite mana combo with Metalworker and Umbral Mantle provides a secondary win condition if combat lines are obstructed.
