Deck overview

This deck is a four-color Midrange poison strategy helmed by Atraxa, Praetors' Voice. The primary game plan applies early poison counters to every opponent using low-mana toxic and infect creatures, such as Blighted Agent and Bilious Skulldweller, or direct spells like Prologue to Phyresis and Ichor Rats. Once opponents are poisoned, the deck shifts toward board control and repeated proliferation using Atraxa's end-step trigger alongside engines like Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus, Evolution Sage, and Bloated Contaminator. Because poison eliminates players at ten counters regardless of life totals, the deck ignores standard damage math and applies compounding pressure across the entire table. The deck features strong redundancy in its core mechanics, backed by solid interaction like Farewell and Bring the Ending. However, because it lacks unconditional tutors, it relies on natural card flow to assemble its strongest counter-doublers and sweepers.
