Deck overview

This Golgari deck combines deathtouch tribal mechanics, poison counters, and proliferate engines under the leadership of The Serpent Society. The game plan establishes early board presence using low-cost deathtouch creatures like Bilious Skulldweller and Fang of Shigeki. When The Serpent Society enters on Turn 3, its potent Ward ability punishes opponents with five poison counters for targeting it, while turning every deathtouch creature's death into an asymmetric edict that forces all opponents to sacrifice a nontoken creature. As the game transitions into the midgame, the deck applies initial poison counters using Fynn, the Fangbearer, Ichor Rats, and toxic attackers. It then closes out the game by proliferating those counters to lethal thresholds through Evolution Sage, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Contagion Engine, and Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider. With resilient graveyard recursion and potent board control, the deck steadily exhausts opponent resources while building an inevitable 10-poison clock across the table.
