Deck overview

This deck is a Simic midrange engine that uses Grolnok, the Omnivore to convert combat steps and self-mill triggers into massive card advantage. Low-cost mana dorks and Frogs accelerate Grolnok onto the board on turn 3. Attacking with Frogs mills permanent cards directly into exile with croak counters, turning exile into a secondary hand full of lands, utility creatures, and interaction. The deck neutralizes opposing threats using low-cost disabling auras like Witness Protection and Frogify, which keep opposing commanders locked on the battlefield without abilities. As the croak-exile zone expands, the deck plays additional lands and creatures to assemble a dominant board via Rampaging Baloths, Augmenter Pugilist // Echoing Equation, or deep self-mill into Laboratory Maniac and Jace, Wielder of Mysteries. While vulnerable to mass sweepers and targeted commander removal, previously croaked cards remain safe in exile, allowing the deck to recover quickly whenever Grolnok re-enters.
