Deck overview

This deck is a 5-color spellslinger aggro-storm strategy centered around Codie, Ravenous Codex and the prepare mechanic. It utilizes dense 2-CMC artifact acceleration and multi-color dorks to cast Codie on curve. Once assembled, Codie copies prepared spells cast from adventure-style creatures, turning cheap utility into overwhelming card draw, removal, and token production. Payoffs like Jeskai Ascendancy, Storm-Kiln Artist, Balmor, Battlemage Captain, and Leonin Lightscribe convert each cast and copy into mana generation and massive team-wide power buffs. While the deck possesses explosive Turn 5 burst potential and exceptional card velocity, it remains dependent on permanent-heavy board states and creature survival, giving opponents opportunities to interact via mass removal.
