Deck overview

Zaxara, the Exemplary is both the ramp engine and the anchor of the deck's fastest kill. The primary plan is to ramp into Zaxara, use X-spells to draw cards and create Hydra tokens, then assemble infinite mana with Pemmin's Aura or Freed from the Real on Zaxara. The usual payoff is a huge Torment of Hailfire, with Finale of Devastation and combat hydras as secondary paths. If the combo is disrupted, a counter-based hydra beatdown plan with Corpsejack Menace, Doubling Season, and Kamahl can still close games. There is no hidden commander; the deck is built to protect, untap, and maximize Zaxara.
