Deck overview

Lady Octopus, Inspired Inventor commands a mono-blue artifact deck that combines mana acceleration, card flow, and wide artifact combat pressure. The strategy begins by casting the commander on Turn 1 to accumulate ingenuity counters through regular draw steps. As counters build, Lady Octopus cheats mid-sized and large artifacts into play without mana costs, supplementing a dense suite of mana rocks and cost reducers. The mid-game focuses on assembling token engines like Sai, Master Thopterist and Thopter Spy Network, creating flying blockers and drawing extra cards. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around Turn 6 by deploying powerful finishers like Graaz, Unstoppable Juggernaut, Myr Battlesphere, or Kappa Cannoneer, converting Thopter swarms into high-damage assault waves. While the deck features strong independent backup plans and targeted protection through Padeem, Consul of Innovation and Spellskite, its reliance on combat damage over multiple turns leaves it vulnerable to mass artifact sweepers.
