Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Rakdos combo-burn strategy built around Smaug the Impenetrable. Smaug provides a resilient 8/7 flying, indestructible, and hasty body that turns noncombat damage into an immediate flood of Treasure tokens. The deck accelerates through low-cost mana rocks and rituals like Dark Ritual and Jeska's Will to deploy Smaug by Turn 5. Once on the battlefield, spells that deal self-inflicted damage—such as Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, Pestilence, and Pyrohemia—trigger Smaug to generate massive amounts of Treasure. These tokens immediately convert into lethal direct damage through aristocrat pingers like Mirkwood Bats, Reckless Fireweaver, and Mayhem Devil, or fuel an explosive Crackle with Power. The deck also features a compact two-card infinite damage combo in Brash Taunter and Blazing Sunsteel. Strong board control and free protective redirection ensure the deck can reliably execute same-turn finishes.
