Deck overview

This deck leverages Codie, Ravenous Codex as a high-velocity spellslinger commander that duplicates prepared spells. By pairing low-cost prepare creatures with potent Magecraft engines such as Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, and Veyran, Voice of Duality, the deck turns every cast into a cascade of mana and card advantage. Casting prepare spells triggers Codie's duplication ability, effectively giving you double value on iconic spell effects like Demonic Tutor, Ancestral Recall, and Swords to Plowshares. Once an engine is established on Turn 4, the deck initiates a decisive storm sequence on Turn 5, generating dozens of Treasures and drawing deep into the library. The game concludes in a single turn through non-combat life drain via Witherbloom Apprentice or an overwhelming Exsanguinate. Robust protection spells safeguard your combo turns, while an efficient interaction suite keeps fast opposing strategies in check.
