Deck overview

This Simic kindred deck leverages Hakbal of the Surging Soul to generate compounding card advantage and board presence. Early turns establish cheap Merfolk creatures that immediately explore when Hakbal enters on Turn 4. This trigger distributes +1/+1 counters, filters draws, and fills the hand with lands. Hakbal's attack trigger accelerates land drops or draws cards directly. The deck converts its wide, buffed board into a win through unblockable combat enablers like Herald of Secret Streams, one-sided sweepers like Raise the Palisade, or an infinite extra-turn loop using Deeproot Pilgrimage and Wanderwine Prophets. The list features exceptional defensive shielding, including Heroic Intervention, Fierce Guardianship, and Ripples of Potential, allowing it to protect its board against all wipe variants. While it relies on creature combat, deep card flow and redundant lords ensure swift recovery.
