Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Group Slug and Forced Draw strategy helmed by Arjun, the Shifting Flame. Rather than starving opponents of cards, the game plan forces everyone to draw massive quantities of cards through symmetric engines like Howling Mine, Font of Mythos, and Dictate of Kruphix. It then converts opponents' bloated hands into lethal damage using punishers such as Iron Maiden, Black Vise, Ebony Owl Netsuke, Scrawling Crawler, and Razorkin Needlehead. As the game advances, heavy hitters like Psychosis Crawler, Niv-Mizzet, Parun, and Molten Psyche turn every card drawn into direct life loss, while wheels like Windfall and Jace's Archivist deal catastrophic burst damage. The commander provides unmatched hand cycling, resetting your hand on every cast to dig rapidly for answers or finishers. While the deck generously hands resources to opponents, it closes games swiftly once its damage multipliers are established.
