Deck overview

This is a Simic Merfolk tribal deck helmed by Hakbal of the Surging Soul, built to flood the board with Merfolk while converting Hakbal's explore trigger into relentless card advantage and land ramp. The primary plan is to deploy a wide, unblockable swarm - Mist-Cloaked Herald, Triton Shorestalker, and islandwalk lords like Lord of Atlantis and Master of the Pearl Trident - then push through lethal combat damage backed by anthem effects and Herald of Secret Streams. The deck layers +1/+1 counter synergies (Hardened Scales, Ozolith, the Shattered Spire, Deeproot Elite) with tribal draw engines (Kindred Discovery, Emperor Mihail II, Svyelun of Sea and Sky). A secondary combo channel exists around Intruder Alarm with Deeproot Pilgrimage and Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca for infinite tokens and deck-drawing. A dense protection suite - Heroic Intervention, Inspiring Call, March of Swirling Mist - keeps the board alive through wipes.
