Deck overview

Golgari reanimator/sacrifice value deck built around Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The primary plan is to accumulate experience counters by sacrificing creatures, then use Meren's end-step trigger to recur high-impact creatures like Gray Merchant of Asphodel every turn. Secondary paths include mass reanimation with Living Death, Protean Hulk value piles, and drain engines from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance, and Syr Konrad. The commander is the engine; without her, one-shot reanimation spells keep the deck functional but slower. There is no hidden commander. The deck wins through incremental life drain and recursion rather than a single combo, with tutors and draw smoothing the midgame.
