Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Aphelia, Viper Whisperer to turn deathtouch creatures into an aggressive token and life-halving engine. By deploying low-cost Snakes and deathtouch threats early, the deck creates favorable combat trades and deters opposing ground attacks. Once a board is established, Aphelia's {4}{B} ability cuts defending players' life totals in half per combat connection, rapidly accelerating the damage clock. Supported by trample enablers like Overwhelming Stampede and End-Raze Forerunners, alongside card draw engines like Toski, Bearer of Secrets and Ohran Frostfang, the deck maintains steady pressure while dismantling opposing utility permanents with flexible Golgari removal spells.
