Ash Nazg Durbatulûk - Sauron by MonkeyDMaui

Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Grixis reanimator-control deck helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord leans heavily into the ring-tempt mechanic and a robust reanimation suite to generate overwhelming card advantage and board presence. The primary game plan uses early ramp and discard outlets to fill the graveyard, then reanimates high-impact threats like Terror of the Peaks, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, and Cavern-Hoard Dragon while Sauron's trigger turns every opponent's spell into an amassing Orc and every ring temptation into a massive hand refill. The nine Nazgul provide a redundant, resilient ground force that grows with each ring temptation, while spells like Living Death and Afterlife from the Loam can reset the board in your favor. The deck wins through overwhelming combat damage, Terror of the Peaks pings, or a combination of recursion and drain effects.
