Deck overview

This deck executes an aggressive mono-green stompy strategy led by Gargos, Vicious Watcher. An exceptional suite of fast mana pieces accelerates Gargos onto the battlefield by turn 4. Once deployed, Gargos reduces the casting cost of all Hydra spells by four generic mana, turning expensive X-cost creatures into undercosted, high-stat beaters. On turns 5 and 6, explosive counter doublers and combat enhancers like Kalonian Hydra, Branching Evolution, and Unnatural Growth turn these Hydras into lethal threats that close out games via trample damage. Gargos provides built-in deterrence by fighting opposing creatures whenever your creatures are targeted by spells. The deck supplements its aggressive plan with powerful burst draw based on creature power, such as Rishkar's Expertise and The Great Henge. While vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and countermagic, the deck presents overwhelming physical board presence and high resiliency through redundant creature tutors and raw mana generation.
