Deck overview

Firkraag, Cunning Instigator leads an Izzet Dragon Midrange and Goad Control deck that weaponizes multiplayer combat dynamics. The primary game plan accelerates into early mana rocks on Turns 2 and 3, deploying Firkraag on Turn 4. Firkraag's innate haste triggers immediate goad effects, inciting opponent creatures into combat against one another. As forced combat damage connects, Firkraag accrues +1/+1 counters and fuels substantial card draw. The deck magnifies this chaos using mass forced-attack pieces like Disrupt Decorum, Bothersome Quasit, Fumiko the Lowblood, and War's Toll, while Propaganda shields your life total. Mid-to-late turns introduce heavy flying Dragons including Terror of the Peaks, Lathliss, Dragon Queen, and Drakuseth, Maw of Flames to dominate the skies and punish depleted boards. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through commander damage and overwhelming aerial combat. While resilient in creature-heavy pods, the strategy is vulnerable to targeted removal and non-combat combo decks.
