Deck overview

This mono-black Rat tribal deck leverages Marrow-Gnawer as both a token multiplier and a combo outlet. The primary plan is to flood the board with 1/1 Rat tokens, using sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar and Phyrexian Altar to generate infinite mana or infinite death triggers. Drain effects from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Syr Konrad, the Grim convert those triggers into a table kill. The deck also packs powerful recursion (Reanimate, Victimize, Necromancy) and stax pieces like Contamination to lock opponents out. While Marrow-Gnawer is central to the explosive token generation, the 99 contains multiple independent combo lines, making the deck resilient even without the commander in play.
