Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Selesnya Voltron list commanded by Sergeant John Benton. The strategy accelerates Benton out on turn 2 using dense 1-drop ramp. Because Benton has haste and trample, he attacks immediately, leveraging cheap pump spells to draw huge volumes of cards on combat damage. On turn 3, the deck chains double-strike enchantments and hand-size scaling buffs like Empyrial Armor to eliminate opponents with 21 commander damage in a single hit. The massive card draw fills the pilot's hand with cheap protection spells like Tyvar's Stand and Blacksmith's Skill, insulating the commander from opposing removal. Because it lacks extra-combat steps, the deck eliminates one opponent per turn across turns 3, 4, and 5. Its primary weakness is group card draw, which gives surviving opponents extra answers to contest the board.
