Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai midrange strategy that maximizes mana acceleration and scalable X-spells using Zaxara, the Exemplary in the command zone. The game plan focuses on deploying early ramp on Turns 1 through 3 to cast Zaxara ahead of curve. Once untapping with Zaxara, the deck leverages its two-mana tap ability to cast impactful X-cost creatures, draw spells, and removal spells. Each X-spell triggers Zaxara to produce a corresponding 0/0 Hydra token with X +1/+1 counters, creating a rapidly expanding battlefield presence. The deck scales its threats with doubling effects like Unbound Flourishing, Primal Vigor, and Kalonian Hydra. While primarily closing games through massive trample and evasive combat damage bolstered by Overwhelming Stampede, it also features reach via Exsanguinate. The list is protected by focused stack interaction and protective instant-speed hexproof spells, offering resilient stompy gameplay.
