Deck overview

This deck is a five-color control and turbo-fog spellslinger strategy commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Supreme. The game plan revolves around stalling opposing aggression through an extensive suite of fog effects and counterspells while ramping into all five colors. Once Niv-Mizzet, Supreme enters the battlefield, it grants jump-start to every two-color instant and sorcery in the graveyard, turning used removal like Assassin's Trophy and permission spells like Counterflux, Render Silent, and Voidslime into repeatable defensive layers. With built-in hexproof from monocolored, the commander evades most common spot removal while chipping away at opponents with flying commander damage. Secondary threats like Niv-Mizzet, Guildpact and Two-Headed Hellkite bolster the air offense, while Folio of Fancies provides an alternative mill route. Because the deck lacks compact infinite combos and relies on fair combat over multiple turn cycles, it emphasizes sustained attrition, precise stack interaction, and patient defensive piloting to outlast the table.
