Deck overview

This deck executes a focused Dimir Reanimator strategy led by Runo Stromkirk. The primary plan fills the graveyard with massive sea creatures (Krakens, Leviathans, Octopuses, and Serpents) using cards like Entomb and Buried Alive. Runo recovers a creature to the top of the library to trigger his transformation into Krothuss, Lord of the Deep on upkeep. Once transformed, Krothuss attacks alongside a reanimated sea monster, creating two tapped and attacking copies of that creature. When paired with payoffs like Spawning Kraken, Scourge of Fleets, or Junk Winder, this trigger generates overwhelming board presence, mass bounces, or tap-locks that swiftly close the game within one turn cycle. Countermagic and cheap protection spells help shield the board during critical combat turns.
