Thorin, Red Railgun by Spades

Format: Commander

Commander: Thorin, Mountain-king

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-red Voltron deck helmed by Thorin, Mountain-king, built to attach a dense equipment suite to a single threat and convert its power into overwhelming damage. The commander's ETB trigger both equips for free and fires a damage burst equal to the equipped creature's power, making every equipment drop a potential removal spell or direct hit. The deck's primary plan is to suit up Thorin (or a secondary beater like Champion of the Flame or Laelia, the Blade Reforged) with power-doubling and evasion equipment, then close games through combat damage, Chandra's Ignition, or Soul's Fire-style finishers. Secondary lines include Helm of the Host and Cursed Mirror to create non-legendary Thorin copies, chaining ETB triggers for repeated damage bursts, and Toralf, God of Fury to amplify excess damage into a board-clearing chain. The deck leans heavily on artifacts, with Magda, Brazen Outlaw and Daretti, Scrap Savant providing both ramp and recursion.
