Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Selesnya go-wide aggro build centered around Bess, Soul Nourisher. The strategy relies on flooding the battlefield with creatures and tokens that possess a base power and toughness of 1/1. Each entering 1/1 places a +1/+1 counter on Bess, which in turn grants a massive temporary +X/+X buff to the entire 1/1 army whenever she attacks. Supported by counter multipliers like Hardened Scales and Branching Evolution, Bess grows rapidly into a game-ending threat by Turn 5. The deck maintains steady card flow through token-fueled engines such as Skullclamp, Mentor of the Meek, and Toski, Bearer of Secrets. Defensively, instant-speed tools like Clever Concealment and Heroic Intervention safeguard large boards against sweepers. However, the list exhibits almost no interaction against noncreature permanents or fast combos, leaving it entirely reliant on executing its proactive combat clock before opponents assemble uninterrupted wins.
