Ep21 - this is going to hurt by ProxyForge

Format: Commander

Commander: Teval, Arbiter of Virtue

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Sultai delve-reanimator deck, helmed by Teval, Arbiter of Virtue, leverages the commander's ability to exile cards from the graveyard to reduce the cost of spells, enabling the early deployment of massive dragons and game-ending sorceries. The primary game plan is to accelerate mana with ramp and dorks, fill the graveyard via cantrips and self-mill, then cast high-impact threats like Old Gnawbone, Ancient Silver Dragon, and Rise of the Dark Realms at a steep discount. The deck also packs a robust suite of tutors (Vampiric Tutor, Demonic Tutor, Imperial Seal) to find its key pieces. Wins are achieved through overwhelming combat damage from multiple evasive dragons, life-drain effects (Kokusho, the Evening Star, Shard of the Nightbringer), and the X-spell Torment of Hailfire. The commander's life-loss drawback is mitigated by lifelink and incidental life gain, while the graveyard acts as both a resource and a recursion well.
