Deck overview

This mono-blue deck is commanded by Minn, Wily Illusionist, focusing on drawing two cards each turn to generate scaling Illusion tokens and cheat high-cost permanents into play. The deck curves into Minn on turn 3, using low-cost draw artifacts and instant-speed cantrips such as Idol of Oblivion, Endless Atlas, and Brainstorm to consistently trigger token production on your own and opponents' turns. As Illusion tokens multiply, their power scales rapidly. The deck capitalizes on this board presence through unblockable attacks with Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive, mass copy spells like Nanogene Conversion, or tapping opposing boards down with Junk Winder. Inherent insurance comes from Minn's death trigger, which cheats heavy permanents like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Sphinx of the Second Sun, and Ulamog's Dreadsire directly onto the battlefield whenever an Illusion falls. Strong asymmetric tax pieces like Energy Flux and Narset, Parter of Veils slow opponents down, paving the way for a decisive combat finish.
