Deck overview

This deck is a colorless stax and big-mana combo build commanded by Kozilek, Butcher of Truth. It leverages explosive mana engines like Mishra's Workshop, Ancient Tomb, Mana Vault, and Metalworker to deploy disruptive stax pieces early. Artifacts like Trinisphere, Winter Orb, Static Orb, and The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale restrict opposing mana and creature development while breaking parity through artifact ramp. The deck transitions into game-ending lines via infinite mana combos such as Basalt Monolith with Forsaken Monument or Rings of Brighthearth, channeling that mana into an immediate Walking Ballista kill. Alternatively, it establishes a total lockout with Karn, the Great Creator and Mycosynth Lattice, or overwhelms the board by casting massive Eldrazi titans whose cast triggers bypass countermagic. While exceptionally fast and oppressive, the deck lacks cheap instant-speed interaction and depends heavily on nonland artifact permanence.
