Commander: Michelangelo, the Heart and Raphael, the Muscle

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Gruul (+1/+1 counters) midrange combat deck helmed by the partner pair Michelangelo, the Heart and Raphael, the Muscle. Michelangelo is a cheap early body that converts attacks into counters and Food, while Raphael is the premier payoff-doubling damage from every countered creature and seeding a Mutagen token on entry. The 99 leans hard into counter multiplication (Hardened Scales, Ozolith, the Shattered Spire, Loading Zone, Kami of Whispered Hopes), hydra-style threats, and burn-on-counters payoffs like All Will Be One and Casey Jones, Back Alley Brute. Wins come from oversized combat (often amplified by Overwhelming Stampede or Anzrag, the Quake-Mole's extra combats) rather than infinite combos. The deck is a straightforward "grow, multiply, smash" plan with light interaction and modest recursion.
