Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes Kaalia of the Vast to bypass the mana costs of high-impact Angels, Demons, and Dragons. Supported by efficient 2-CMC mana rocks, the deck aims to cast Kaalia on Turn 3 and attack on Turn 4, immediately cheating lethal threats directly into combat. Cards like Master of Cruelties provide single-turn player eliminations, while Archfiend of Despair, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, and Utvara Hellkite present overwhelming aerial damage. To ensure resilience, the deck incorporates a comprehensive reanimation package with Entomb, Reanimate, and Necromancy, providing a full secondary avenue for cheating threats if Kaalia faces targeted removal. Protection spells like Grand Abolisher, Deflecting Swat, and Teferi's Protection defend the combat window against opposing interaction. The deck closes games around Turn 6 by methodically eliminating opponents through unblockable and evasive combat damage.
