Edgar Markov by vtr

Format: Commander

Commander: Edgar Markov

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Mardu Vampire tribal swarm deck engineered around Edgar Markov's eminence: every Vampire spell you cast - whether Edgar sits in the command zone or on the battlefield - refunds a 1/1 token, effectively doubling each spell into two bodies. The game plan is to curve out cheap Vampires, pump the wide board with anthems like Legion Lieutenant, Stromkirk Captain, Vampire Nocturnus, and Shared Animosity, and convert every death and attack into table-wide damage through the drain package of Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, Sanctum Seeker, and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. The deck is an aggressive midrange aristocrat hybrid: it wins through combat plus incidental life-loss triggers, and it reloads after wipes with Patriarch's Bidding, Victimize, and the self-recurring Edgar, Charmed Groom. Casting Edgar himself is a late-game accelerator rather than a requirement - his haste means he attacks and pumps the whole board the turn he arrives.
