Deck overview

Athreos, God of Passage commands an Orzhov Cleric aristocrats and lifegain deck designed to grind opponents down through relentless life drain and recursive creature value. Athreos acts as a resilient engine that punishes opponents with life tax or returns fallen Clerics to hand. The primary game plan combines soul sister lifegain triggers with damage converters like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Sanguine Bond, or assembling Bolas's Citadel and Aetherflux Reservoir to storm through the library for lethal burst damage. Secondary win conditions leverage aristocrat engines featuring Blood Artist, Elas il-Kor, and Teysa Karlov to drain the table while controlling the board with Grave Pact.
