Deck overview

Alela, Artful Provocateur turns the deck's large artifact and enchantment package into flying Faerie tokens. The strongest ordinary plan is to establish Bitterblossom and Anointed Procession, then use Cathars' Crusade, Caretaker's Talent, Rhystic Study, and other enchantments to convert each spell into both board growth and long-term value. The deck also uses taxes such as Aura of Silence and Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, defensive effects such as Propaganda and Moat, and a solid package of creature removal. Its main weakness is that the plan needs several expensive permanents before it becomes decisive. It has no compact supported combo, no reliable haste kill, and only partial protection against sweepers and enchantment removal. In an unopposed game it can create a large flying board around turn 8 and win through later combat, but the finish is too exposed and slow to claim a reliable table-kill turn.
