Amalia by Chunderstorm

Format: Commander

Commander: Amalia Benavides Aguirre

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Orzhov lifegain midrange deck helmed by Amalia Benavides Aguirre converts a dense suite of ETB and continuous life triggers into card selection, a growing commander threat, and table-wide drain. Whenever you gain life, Amalia explores-stocking lands or padding her with +1/+1 counters until she hits exactly 20 power and wipes every other creature. Parallel win paths include ping engines (Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, Marauding Blight-Priest, Starscape Cleric), aristocrat drains (Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim), Aetherflux Reservoir lasers once life totals balloon, and oversized combat via Serra Ascendant, Karlov of the Ghost Council, and Nykthos Paragon. The curve is low (AMV ~2.59) with modest rock ramp, so the deck develops engines early and grinds value rather than comboing off. Amalia is a powerful payoff and incidental card filter, but the drain and Reservoir lines function without her.
