Commander: Y'shtola, Night's Blessed

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Y'shtola, Night's Blessed is an Esper spellslinger/drain deck. The primary plan is to resolve Y'shtola early, then chain noncreature spells with mana value 3 or more so her trigger drains each opponent for 2 and eventually draws extra cards. Cost reducers such as Lyse Hext, Archmage of Runes, Haughty Djinn, and Alisaie Leveilleur allow several such spells per turn. Secondary paths are token generation (Talrand, Monastery Mentor, Circle of Power, Summon: Good King Mog XII) for a Full Party lethal swing, graveyard recursion through Emet-Selch and Torrential Gearhulk, and a direct life-loss finish with Professor Onyx or Exsanguinate. Alisaie/Alphinaud act as a hidden commander pair that rewards the same second-spell cadence. Y'shtola is the primary engine, but Papalymo and Circle tokens can keep a lower-powered drain going if she is taxed out.
