Deck overview

This deck is a classic Gruul Landfall strategy helmed by Omnath, Locus of Rage. The deck focuses on accelerating its mana production during the first four turns using a dense suite of land-searching sorceries and creatures. Once Omnath enters the battlefield on Turn 5, every subsequent land drop generates a 5/5 Elemental token, rapidly building a threatening board presence. In addition to overwhelming opponents through combat, Omnath punishes removal and creature loss by dealing 3 direct damage to any target whenever an Elemental dies. The deck capitalizes on this through sacrifice outlets like Goblin Bombardment and Magmaw, converting board stalls or sweepers into lethal direct burn. While the deck boasts immense mid-game resilience and punishing combat math, its reliance on sorcery-speed ramp and natural card draw leaves it vulnerable to fast combo strategies and exile-based removal.
