Deck overview

This is a Dimir Rat tribal attrition deck helmed by Vren, the Relentless. The core plan forces opponents to sacrifice creatures through a dense edict and sacrifice suite, converting those deaths into an ever-growing army of scaling Rat tokens via Vren's end-step trigger (which also exiles the dead so they stay gone). The Rats then overwhelm the table in combat with tribal payoffs like Coat of Arms, Cover of Darkness, Karumonix, the Rat King, and Ogre Slumlord. Secondary angles include poison (toxic Rats), life-drain attacks from Valley Rotcaller, and pure control lock via Grave Pact plus repeatable edicts. The deck plays as midrange control that grinds value, protects its board with equipment and counters, and closes through a critical mass of oversized tokens rather than a single explosive combo turn.
