Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos group-slug strategy helmed by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The game plan revolves around deploying inexpensive, symmetrical life-loss permanents like Fate Unraveler, Mogis, God of Slaughter, and Citadel of Pain to consistently trigger Valgavoth on each opponent's turn. Each trigger grows Valgavoth into a lethal flying threat while drawing extra cards to fuel continuous development. Once the card engine is established, the deck transitions into lethal pressure by resolving asymmetric damage multipliers such as Archfiend of Despair, Fiery Emancipation, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, or assembling the infinite life-drain loop of Exquisite Blood and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. It controls board states with efficient sweepers like Blasphemous Act and disrupts aggressive opponents using Kardur, Doomscourge. While the deck boasts immense card draw and inevitable table-wide pressure, its lack of stack interaction and vulnerability to creature sweepers require careful timing when committing win conditions to the board.
